My Training and Experience
In addition to being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am also a retired public school teacher, having spent 20 years teaching Elementary and Junior High band and orchestra. I earned many state and national teaching awards, as well as provided ongoing staff development and teacher training seminars throughout my career as an educator. Interestingly, my first career was in music, where I performed as a classical trumpet player with such groups as the Seattle Symphony and the Seattle Opera Orchestra. I recently retired from music, having enjoyed over 40 years as a professional musician.
As a mental health therapist, I have enjoyed a variety of clinical experiences, which have included pro bono services with the NW Soldiers Project and the Olympia Free Clinic, full-time clinical work with adults at Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare and Valley View Medical Clinic, and full-time private practice in Olympia since 2008.
